Digital pathology | Aperio CT 6 Digital Slide Scanner

Date:2024-01-02

The Aperio CT 6 digital slide scanner developed and produced by Leica Biosystems in China has been officially launched.

Aperio is Leica's world-renowned digital pathology series product. As a member of the Aperio family, the Aperio CT 6, released this time, provides impressive image color performance and fast scanning speed on low throughput products, and supports large-sized glass slides of 2x3 inches and 4x3 inches, providing more possibilities for researchers.

01 High quality image quality

1 Triprism camera

Using a prism spectrophotometer, it consists of a prism and three CMOS sensors for sensing R, G, and B. Provide organizational experts with authentic organizational colors.

2 High resolution imaging

Using a 4K linear camera, organizational details are clearly visible:

20x resolution: 0.38 μ m/pixel

40x resolution: 0.19 μ m/pixel

3 Leica's Centennial Optical Accumulation

Leica has a long history in the field of microscopic imaging, creating generation after generation of products that strive for excellence for users.

On this solid foundation, the Leica China R&D team repeatedly debugged and experimented with image quality, ultimately finding a solution that highly reproduces the true tissue color under a microscope, and applied it to Aperio CT 6.

02 Multiple bright field slice scans

1. Supports multiple bright field slice scans

Meet the imaging needs of different bright fields in histological experiments.

2 Professional modes to cope with special slicing

For special slicing, it has different scanning modes to meet various application scenarios.

3 different slide sizes to choose from

When larger tissue scans are needed for the experiment. Can quickly switch to the large glass slide scanning mode. It can support multiple sizes of slice scanning, including 26 x 76 mm (1 x 3 in.), 52 x 76 mm (2 x 3 in.), and 76 x 102 mm (3 x 4 in.).

03 Efficient workflow

1 Leica Aperio line scanning technology

Adopting one-way and two-way line scanning technology for fast high-definition imaging.

The entire process (focusing scanning algorithm mapping) only requires 40s/slide (20x scanning 15 x 15mm area).

2 20x and 40x mixed scans

Same batch, mixed scanning at different magnifications to meet imaging needs for different details.

3 scanning management film reading analysis overall solution

From scanning imaging to management and analysis, Leica Biosystems provides a comprehensive solution that fully empowers the entire process of digital pathology.

Centennial Leica, Made by China's "Intelligence"

Leica established a Chinese factory in Pudong, Shanghai in 1994. Currently, it is the research and manufacturing center for Leica's global core products such as dehydration, embedding, and slicing, with over 40 international patents and a team of 70 research and development engineers and application experts. Leica Biosystems China factory has won the "Danaher Global Best Factory" award multiple times, and its products are sold to more than 100 countries worldwide.

The domestically produced digital slide scanner launched this time is also manufactured by Leica's Shanghai factory, which not only actively responds to China's localization policy, but also becomes another strong proof of Danaher's implementation of the "Creating China" strategy and the "Rooting in China, Serving China" goal.
